Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-08-11
This policy explains how Sonic Ships handles the personal information collected in the course of providing our products and website.
The Japanese version of this policy is the authoritative text. This English version is provided for convenience; where the two differ, the Japanese version prevails.
1. What we collect
- Account — email address, password, display name (optional), language preference
- Purchases — order number, products bought, amount, currency, date
- Licenses — license key, number of permitted activations
- Activations — a hash of your computer's identifier, computer name, operating system, plugin version, activation and release dates
- Access records — IP address, browser type and timestamp when downloading; email address, IP address and outcome for sign-in attempts
2. Passwords and card details
Passwords are stored in a form that cannot be reversed (bcrypt). We never know your actual password — which is why a forgotten password can only be reset, never retrieved.
We never receive your card details. Payment happens on PayPal's page; all we receive is the fact that payment completed, and the amount.
3. How we handle computer identifiers
To enforce the activation limit, the plugin uses information that identifies your computer.
That identifier is never transmitted or stored in its original form. We store only a salted hash of it, from which the original value cannot be recovered. It is used solely to tell whether two activations are the same machine — never to identify or track you.
4. Why we use it
Access records and sign-in attempts are used only to detect abuse — sign-in records are what let us spot password guessing and temporarily block it.
We do not use personal information for advertising or analytics.
- Delivering products, downloads and update notifications
- Issuing licenses and enforcing activation limits
- Detecting and preventing abuse
- Responding to support enquiries

6. Disclosure to third parties
Other than the processors above, we do not share your personal information without your consent, except where required by law.
7. Cookies
We use cookies only to:
- Keep you signed in
- Remember your language preference
8. How long we keep it

9. Your controls

10. What happens when you delete your account
Your email address, password and display name are deleted.
If you have made a purchase, the order record itself remains — we are legally required to keep it. Your name and email address are removed, so the record can no longer be traced back to you.
